# Verwenden einer IDE

Die Entwicklung von Plugins mit [Plugin Playground](https://windows.help.formit.autodesk.com/de/plugins/how-to-develop-plugins/your-first-plugin/plugin-playground) ist einfach und bequem. Sie können jedoch Plugins auch mithilfe einer externen integrierten Entwicklungsumgebung (IDE) entwickeln. Die Verwendung einer IDE bietet u. a. folgende Vorteile:

* Sie können Ihre bevorzugte IDE verwenden, in der Syntaxfehler korrigiert werden können, Erweiterungen verfügbar sind usw.
* Sie können mit Kollegen zusammenarbeiten, um ein FormIt-Plugin über ein GitHub-Repository zu entwickeln.
* Sie können private Plugins entwickeln und diese auf einem lokalen Server hosten.

### Installieren einer IDE

Eine kostenlose IDE, die für die Entwicklung von FormIt-Plugins gut geeignet ist, ist [Visual Studio Code](https://code.visualstudio.com/Download) von Microsoft. Klicken Sie auf den Link zum Herunterladen der Installationsdatei, und schließen Sie die Installation ab.

Für diese Demonstration verwenden wir Visual Studio Code, Sie können jedoch auch Ihren bevorzugten Code-Editor verwenden. Stellen Sie sicher, dass die IDE ein Terminal zum Ausführen des lokalen Servers enthält.
