# Uso de un IDE

Desarrollar módulos de extensión con [Plugin Playground](/es/plugins/how-to-develop-plugins/your-first-plugin/plugin-playground.md) es sencillo y cómodo. Sin embargo, es posible que desee desarrollar módulos de extensión mediante un entorno de desarrollo integrado (IDE) externo. Entre las ventajas de utilizar un IDE, se incluyen las siguiente:

* Puede utilizar su IDE preferido, que puede proporcionar corrección de errores de sintaxis, extensiones, etc.
* Puede colaborar con compañeros para desarrollar un módulo de extensión de FormIt mediante un repositorio de GitHub.
* Puede desarrollar módulos de extensión privados y alojarlos en un servidor local.

### Instalación de un IDE

Un IDE gratuito eficaz para el desarrollo de módulos de extensión de FormIt es [Visual Studio Code](https://code.visualstudio.com/Download) de Microsoft. Siga el vínculo para descargar el archivo de instalación y completar el proceso.

Utilizaremos Visual Studio Code para esta demostración, pero puede utilizar el editor de código que prefiera. Asegúrese de que el IDE incluya un terminal para ejecutar el servidor local.
