# Place Vertex

1. In the [Action Toolbar](https://github.com/FormIt3D/autodesk-formit-360-windows-help/tree/c377e7b8a3b8e43e684321d0b7de867608d317a3/tool-library/tool-bars-extended.md) click to open the **Sketch button** and [select](https://windows.help.formit.autodesk.com/tool-library/select-edge-face-or-object) the vertex.

2. **Click to place** the vertex.&#x20;
3. Note that you can place a vertex on an edge to split the edge. Otherwise, the vertex will remain visible as a standalone vertex, if it's placed on a face or in space.
